2023 Mountaineer Miles races, benefitting the Heritage High School Football Team
Are you ready to race? Join us for some quality Mountaineer Miles! The campus and back roads of Heritage High School are the perfect place for a 10K or 5K run, or a 1 mile fun run/walk with neverending views of the Smoky Mountains and southern hospitality for days. Get ready to sweat, connect, and crush some run goals with all of your friends at the edge of the Smokies!
Starting at 9:00am at Heritage High School, runners and walkers will head out for a 10K (6.2 mile) or 5K (3.1 mile) out-and-back run on the road, or a 1 mile fun run around campus, finishing around the track at the football field.
Your support and participation is important to us. Mountaineer Miles benefits the Heritage High School Football Team -- right now we have a big need for reconditioning equipment, practice uniforms, and team nutrition. You'll see the football team out on the course volunteering, handing out water at the aid station, and probably tossing the football (catch!) while you're working hard running!
CASH PRIZES (!) will be awarded to the top 3 female and male runners in both the 10K and 5K, and we'll have lots of other prizes from our fantastic sponsors. Students will be running for a chance at an All Sport Pass (1st place), Football Season Pass (2nd place), or 2 tickets to football games (3rd place). All runners will receive a one-of-a-kind super soft t-shirt -- and so we can include everyone in the fun, we'll hold a drawing before the race so that everyone has a shot at some of the cool prizes from our sponsors. Our title sponsor is Little Arrow Resort so you know the prizes are going to be good!
Note: We need to have time to get the t-shirts ordered so after Monday March 25 you won't be guaranteed your shirt size - so register early! We'll order extras, but to make sure you get the shirt you want, get registered early.
