Together We Wear Gold for Rowdy

Rowdy Ray is a 5-year-old boy who lives in Wichita, Kansas. He was diagnosed with leukemia with CNS-3 on June 6th, 2023. This means his cancer has spread to his central nervous system. This is a very rare condition with about 2,300 cases worldwide and 100 cases in the USA diagnosed yearly with the CNS-3 status. Rowdy had been hospitalized since June 6th, 2023 undergoing chemotherapy and treatment and was recently released. Rowdy's medical team has advised his mother, Sallie, that he will be required to undergo weekly chemotherapy treatments for the next two years. This will result in a great financial burden upon the family and we are hoping to offset that burden by raising fund with this 5K Fun Run

With September being Childhood Cancer Awareness month, we ask you to run or walk in our event to show support for Rowdy and his family, as well as spreading awareness for Childhood Cancers.

The 5K fun run on September 9th, 2023, at Sedgwick County Park in Wichita Kansas. This is an untimed event.

The run will begin at the south entrance of Sedgwick County Park in Shelter 1 at 10:00 a.m. on September 9th. This is located off of the West 13th street entrance.

Shirt pick up will be on September 8th at Shelter 1 from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm. Shirts may also be picked up before the race from 8:00 am until the end of the event.

Participants who wish to only receive a shirt may register and send us a message through the race contact link. We will then contact you to make arrangements for you to receive your shirt.

Registrations received prior to August 8th, will be guaranteed a shirt, any registrations received after that will receive shirts depending on the availability of excess shirts. 

After the run, there will be a raffle drawing of items donated by various sponsors.
