The Hunger Run - Columbus

Please join us on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at Scioto Audubon Metro Park to participate in The Hunger Run 5K and help chase hunger out of Central Ohio! 

We are hosting the 7th Annual Hunger Run 5K in support of Neighborhood Services Inc. (NSI), a local food pantry and resource center located right here in Columbus, Ohio. Our goal is to spread awareness about hunger and food insecurity in central Ohio, bring the community together, and raise money for Neighborhood Services Inc.

Did you know that 12.6% of Franklin County residents are food insecure, nearly 1 in 5 Ohio children live in food-insecure households, and Ohio ranks #1 in food insecurity in the Midwest? These are just a few of the many reasons why Neighborhood Services Inc. is so important. NSI was started in 1965 through the workings of 12 different churches in the Columbus area and has been serving the University District and surrounding zip codes since its creation. NSI provides a variety of services to help support the community and reduce the effects of economic inequality and food insecurity in Columbus. Some of their initiatives include their food pantry, produce market, rent and utility assistance program, and special holiday programs.

Every dollar raised for NSI provides FOUR meals, which means that by participating in The Hunger Run 5K you will help provide over 100 meals. In 2023, NSI served 1,509,791 meals to 96,827 individuals! This FUNdraiser has the ability to help feed even more well-deserving families and Columbus residents who are in need.
