Run/Walk for weSPARK 5K & 10K

ONLINE REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED.  WALK-UP REGISTRATIONS will be $45!    Walk-up Registrations / Bib Pick-Up Begins @ 7:30am 5K/10K Begins @ 9:00am Kids Fun Run Begins @ 10:00am NOTE: The Kids Fun Run will not have the same route as the 5K/10K.  This will be held in the Woodley Park grass area, close to the Vendor Expo area.  The Kids Fun Run will not be chip-timed.  As another option, your kid can run/walk with you on the 5K/10K route when the race begins at 9:00am.     **Race Participants that have pre-registered online should have received an email with the details below.  Please check your Junk Folder, as well. RACE LOCATION:
Woodley Park Section 1, Lake Balboa 6350 Woodley Ave. Van Nuys, CA 91436    Please note, the above address will not take you directly to the parking lot. The event will be taking place at the park/parking lot labeled Woodley Park Section 1 which is very close to the above GPS address.   DIRECTIONS: From Victory Blvd: If you turn onto Woodley Avenue from Victory Blvd, the parking lot will be on your left, after the Air National Guard Center.  From Burbank Blvd: If you turn onto Woodley Avenue from Burbank Blvd, the parking lot will be down Woodley Avenue on your right.    Do not follow your GPS if it instructs you to turn up a service road (this is not the correct location). Look for the Run/Walk for WeSPARK signs to direct you to the correct area.    PARKING: Parking is available on the street along Woodley Avenue or on-site at the following locations: Woodley Park Section 1 Lot: This is where the Run/Walk will begin and end. Follow the directions above. If there is no more space, you will need to park in the overflow lot. Overflow Lot: Turn down the road to the Woodley Lakes Golf Course. From Victory Blvd, the road will be your first right turn after the Busway. From Burbank Blvd, the road will be on your left just past the Woodley Park Section 1 Lot.

 

RACE DAY SCHEDULE: 7:30am-8:50am: Registration Open/Bib Pick-Up 8:40am: Welcome & Opening Ceremonies at Vendor Expo Stage 8:50am: Warm-up led by Body Unlimited Fitness  9:00am: 5K & 10K Races Begin 10:00am: Kids Fun Run Begins 10:30am: Awards Ceremony at Vendor Expo Stage 11:00am: Vendor Expo, Music, Food Truck, Raffle and more! 12:00pm: Event Ends   BIBS: Please have your ID ready to pick up your bib and t-shirt at registration.  Please wear your bib ON THE FRONT. DO NOT take the pull tag off. The chip is under the foam on the back. Do not peel that off. There will be an In-Honor/In-Memory Table with blank bibs available for you to write in the names of a loved one(s) that has/have been affected by cancer.  

 

AWARDS: Everyone will receive a Finisher Medal as you cross the finish line. There will be 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place Age Division Awards Ceremony for Men and Women participating in the 5K & 10K races.

 

NON-REGISTERED ATTENDEES: Those that are not participating in the race but would like to cheer on their friends and family are welcome! There will plenty to do besides running the race. Four legged family members and strollers are welcome too. 

 

THE EVENT WILL ALSO INCLUDE:  Vendor Expo: Enjoy this great selection of samples & information from local businesses! Food Truck: Enjoy delicious breakfast options from the Tropic Truck.
