Pi Day 5k: a 3.14 Miler

Join us for the Pi Day 5k, taking place on Saturday March 15 at Hawk Island Park. This fun-run to raise money for Impression 5 Science Center's scholarship program. Impression 5 Science Center is a dynamic, interactive space for families to play, create, and challenge their understanding of science together. By participating in this event, you’ll support their scholarship programs, which increase access to their exhibits and experiences for children and families throughout our community. All participants receive a t-shirt, medal and free slice of pie after the race! If participating isn't the right fit, there is also an opportunity to volunteer during the event.

Start Time: 9:00 am on Saturday March 15, 2025

Entry Fee: Early bird registration $30 until December 7, 2024.  Registration is $35 from December 8, 2024 through February 28, 2025. Registration increases March 1, 2024 to $40. Registration includes entry fee into Hawk Island Park.

Giveaways: Finisher medals and shirts available to participants and all participants receive a piece of pie after the race! Pie is generously being provided by Grand Traverse Pie Company! 

Early Packet Pick Up: TBD

Day of Packet Pick Up: check in will begin at 8 am prior to the race at Hawk Island in the Red Tail Pavilion.

Results: Your accurate chip time and current overall and age group place will be texted to your phone and live on this site. Timing done by Michigan Running Foundation.

Age Groups: Under 14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80+. 

No-shows to the race will forfeit their shirt and finisher medal.

Virtual Pi Day 5k: If you can't make the race and still want to participate, sign up for the virtual race and we will mail out a shirt and medal to you! Cost is $40 and includes shipping. There are no placement awards for the virtual event. Virtual event registration closes March 14th. Registrations received on or before March 10, will be mailed on March 11th. Registrations received after March 10 will be mailed out the next business day.
