Pain in the Butt 5K, 10K and Half Marathon for Colon Cancer Awareness

This is an annual 5K and 10K normally held in Ephrata, PA to raise awareness for colon cancer. 

Last year we added a half marathon and we’re going virtual again this year! All participants will receive a long sleeve unisex t-shirt and a medal. 

Money raised from this race benefits the Lucas E. Malmer Memorial Scholarship Fund. 
Lucas was diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon Cancer at the age of 29. He underwent surgery and many rounds of chemotherapy but lost his battle in January 2013, he was 33. Just before he was diagnosed, Lucas decided to go to technical school to become an electrician. He was not able to complete this goal. So, the scholarship is awarded yearly to a high school senior preparing to attend technical school. A portion of the proceeds is also donated to colon cancer research.
