Girls Run The World Aurora

**Girls Run The World Walk, Run, and Party in the Park is back...with a twist** Pre Race Day Packet Pick (so you don't have to wait in line on Saturday morning).

We're back! Our Pre-Pandemic 5k and Party in the Park took the Aurora Community by storm. We slowed down a bit during and after the pandemic. In 2024, we're back and more inclusive. Have you ever run a marathon? Or 2 blocks to catch a bus? Or never imagined yourself signing up for a race of any kind? Whatever your history, whatever your skill—this race is for you! With so many people running 5Ks and half marathons, we wanted to take the spirit of racing and make it accessible to the masses. Whether you walk or run, skip or grapevine, the Half K is a race designed for you.

Get ready to move your body for 1.5 miles around Simmons Park. Then join us afterwards for a party in the park to celebrate our graduating seniors and the accomplishments of all Girls Run The World Leadership Program participants. We will honor three community members with the "Lady in Leadership" Award. Enjoy a light snack, community resource tables, resale vendors, and local performances.

Race will start and finish at the Simmons Park, 1201 E. Indian Trail Road, Aurora (directly across the street from the Aurora Police Department)

FIRST TIME HERE?: The Girls Run the World 5K serves as a fundraiser that aids in the expansion of the Girls Run The World leadership program that services three high schools in Aurora and Yorkville High School in Yorkville, IL. This event will celebrate the accomplishments of the young women in the program and young ladies all over Aurora and Yorkville, while promoting a healthy lifestyle.  This fundraiser allows us to give scholarships to our graduating seniors, take the girls on social and education field trips, and help the young ladies prepare for a successful life after high school.We thank you in advance for helping the young women in our community grow and succeed!For more information visit www.girlsruntheworldaurora.org
