Run Rome the Marathon

Crowded start area and a long wait for no apparent reason, but awesome course passing most of the big attractions. Pacers and volunteers were great. Just beware of the many potholes along the way.

A bit chaotic at the start, but awesome route through the city. Roads in need of repair.

80 minutes just standing in the crowd before the start, no starts according to pace, big avenues with just one line for runners (impossible to run for 12 or 13 kms) chaos at water stations...(only in one side of the road) people crossin streets everywhere..(i lost all my energy gels when hiting them...) that race would be perfect with half of the runner but i guess the organization only cares about money... NEVER AGAIN...more than 100 races all over the world....and this is, by far, the WORST

Best marathon. Excellent route. Wonderful city.

Good end very recognize place. Difficult road, i'a cant minimize a track of paving stone.

I'm really angry about this photographer's -most important is finishing a Marathon- but nobody made a target photo- I saw bored photographer's on the target-line- but they didn't made picture on this time- and because restrictions our family couldn't make pictures there😫

Nice weather, easy route around streets on city of Rome, good atmosphere and a lot of people around the route cheering you.

It was a great route. But at some points of the route, the path was too narrow making it very crowded and making it almost impossible to pass other runners. Running on wet cobblestones made difficult to keep good balance and made my feet go numb. But that was my problem alone.

What I've been telling my friends and family is that I saw everything in Rome and nothing at all. I was too exhausted to really enjoy the sights. but it was definitely very beautiful.

I loved the cool events. But you offered everything that someone could need. And all the offers were plenty. I was honered to be a participant to your country !

My best marathon experience in Italy.

I ran this race in 2017 under a torrential downpour of rain. We thought the event was going to be cancelled when the thunderstorm started roaring but it was not and we pushed ourselves in the rain. I wasn’t made of salt so I ran on slippery cobblestones. The usual crowd cheering from the sidelines for which Rome is well known were nowhere to be found. I had no finisher photo to show but I have my awesome Finisher Medal and cero. I might have to return to run this open air museum

The Rain of that year is unforgettable

It was my first marathon. The event was well organized. I have finished the marathon for 6 hours and on my way to the finish line there was music bands, cheerful crowds, water and snacks, kind people and warm memories that I took back home. I really recommend this marathon as it deserved to be visited, run and felt. Thanks to the team and the volunteers that make it happen!
