15 km

I wanted to take a moment to provide my feedback on the Istanbul Marathon that I participated in on November 3rd, specifically the 15km race. Overall, I truly enjoyed the experience. The route was well-organized, and I appreciated the support along the course, including water stations and volunteers. The atmosphere was amazing, and it was exciting to be part of such a well-attended event in such a beautiful city. However, I would like to mention an issue I encountered regarding the timing results. It appears that I was mistakenly listed as having participated in the 42km race, even though I was registered for the 15km. This has left me uncertain about my official finish time for the 15km race, and I would appreciate it if this could be corrected. Despite this issue, I thoroughly enjoyed the event and would certainly consider participating again in the future. I hope this feedback helps improve the experience for future participants, and I look forward to hearing about any updates regarding my timing. Thank you for organizing such a great event, and I appreciate your attention to this matter.

I was wildly scammed by a taxi offered at the place where race packets were distributed. It felt like organized crime—the taxi driver swapped my banknote in his hand, and I ended up losing 100 euros. It would be very helpful if the organisers could warn participants about these kinds of scams. The marathon started off fabulously, but after the 10 km mark, the course became a bit boring and monotonous.

Too less toilets among the route, and I didn't like the water supply support, I think it was waste of it.

It would have been nice more music after leaving city side.

This was my first formal marathon. I traveled from Pakistan to attend it. The crowd was amazing and encouraging, and the sights were otherworldly.

This was my first official marathon event and it was really great! I was very satisfied with the way the marathon had been organized, including free transportation provided to reach the starting line (well done!!!). The only recommendation is to get some warm clothes during run as I felt a bit cold.

The route was not difficult (even it is rolling) with beautiful views on the Istanbul.

a disaster organization from the logistics point of view. a ferry full of athletes was in the river when the race started. I arrived the starting line 20 minutes late and had to overtake more than 10.000 people most of them where there only to take photos of the bridge. the volunteers were top

fine course, hilly at the start, 30 km flat and a terrific last mile. this year the wind was a mess

I ran for the second year in a row for a distance of 15 km, in the first half of the distance you run uphill (over the bridge and after the bridge) take this into account when preparing. Then there will be a long descent. Then the distance is easy. After 10 km there will be a small climb up the hill. Between 11-15 km, the distance passes through an open area in sunny weather, a headdress is necessary. This year I had to look for my things on my own, it took time. Last year, specially trained people were given out. Otherwise, it is organized at a high level.

All is good

The run was boring, the main event is the 15km, once you go beyond that distance you are running on a dual carriageway to 27km. Returning along the dual carriageway and things only liven up at 39/40km. No support from 27km to 40km. Plenty of water, bananas, oranges etc. The trams to the start were not working so we walked to the boat. I got on the first boat and started my race at 9:05 my friends did not get on until the third boat and started at 9:45. Not great for a 9am start. I lost the will.

It was boring.

Great city, amazing start location, and so good to run over the bridge from Asia to Europe and into the city, but after that….almost 27k running on a closed dual carriageway, away from the city on the river front. No crowds, no atmosphere, really tough. At 40k we finally came back into the old city and some atmosphere. Very narrow twisty finish on cobbles, last 500m uphill and quite narrow with the number of runners. At least there were some crowds at the end. A bit chaotic around start line, a long walk 3-4k from the entrance to the start area. Pacers were good, medal is nice and the expo was ok, like all other big expos. Well worth seeing this beautiful city, but not by doing this marathon.
