Thames Marathon

The Thames Marathon is an endurance swim between Henley-on-Thames and Marlow with a choice of 3 distances (13km / 9km / 5.5km) and a 13km 3-person relay option. It covers a beautiful stretch of the Thames and has become one of open water swimming’s most prestigious marathon swims.

The Event Village is in Higginson park in Marlow, where you will find the swim finish, registration, food and drink and merchandise for sale. Swimmers will be transported by coach to the full, mid or half distance start from here, and will swim back to Marlow. There is also the option to walk or run to the start of the half-marathon.

The swims are broken up into sections, as there are several locks where swimmers must exit the river. They will find well-stocked feed stations manned by volunteers at these exits points. The manageable chunks make the swims accessible for many types of swimmer.
