The BASH at Muckelratz is a rain or shine non-competitive mountain bike weekend in the Weiser State Forest on the Rattling Creek Trail system. SAMBA holds the event to generate funding to pay for the upkeep and possible expansion of the Rattling Creek IMBA Epic.

We have very limited electric connectivity if needed for medical devices. The camping is in and around the main field at camp and the roads in and out are not paved.Please pack out anything you bring in to help keep our costs down!HELMETS and WAIVERS are required on all groups rides due to our insurance regulations. Rattling Creek is classic Central PA Rock Garden riding. This is not a beginner mountain biker event, but it is not a race either. The trails are challenging but great riding can be had for most ability groups. For a map please visit: Rattling Creek Trail System Map. It is also recommended that you download the Trailforks Rattling Creek (IMBA Epic) route to your mobile device in advance.The event is only canceled due to extreme weather so come prepared for whatever we have. Individuals coming for only Saturday may be parked near Camp Muckleratz at the Snowmobile Lot if parking is full at camp.

Are there beginner rides in Rattling Creek? There really are no true beginner rides. All the trails have rock gardens, climbs and no easy way out except to try and make the ride. The short rides are several miles long and rides often have significant elevation changes. There is often no cell service on most of the trails so you still have to make it out pretty far to even get support.Why is there no family rate? Families are welcome to come, but the this event is all about riding the IMBA Epic Rattling Creek Trail System. Dinner is included in the price as are the facilities and rental of the campground.Saturday dinner menu? We will be ordering pizzas with various toppings from JoJo's. For the vegetarians, we will also be offering vegetarian masala and hummus with pita (limited quantity, first come first serve).What about breakfast? Free coffee and bagels available (until we run out) from 730-930am in bunkhouse on Friday and Saturday morning (self-serve). What if I am arriving late in the evening? Please check-in the next morning at the SAMBA tent. You can park anywhere within Camp Muckelratz.Are generators allowed? No, generators are not allowed.
