Old Baldy Run for the Light

WHAT
The Run for the Light is a scenic run near coastal dunes and through the maritime forest on Bald Head Island, NC. Enjoy the sweeping views while running at dusk toward the light of The Old Baldy Lighthouse.

Make your participation in this race an entire day trip your whole family can enjoy by taking part in an afternoon festival celebrating National Lighthouse Day featuring Market from Noon to 4, music, food & beer! The festival will be taking place on the lighthouse grounds, the start and finishing site for The Run for the Light.

Participants receive a finisher medal, shirt, bag, and headlamp (while supplies last). Participants over 21 years old also receive a beer ticket.

HOW TO GET TO BALD HEAD ISLAND
To get to Bald Head Island, you must travel by ferry from Deep Point Marina in Southport, NC.  The ferry runs every hour.

Upon arrival to Bald Head Island, expect a five/ten minute walk to the race start line, or you can ride the Tram.
