KID Hero 5K - Fort Lauderdale

The 19th Annual KID Hero 5K presented by UKG and hosted by the KID Auxiliary is a family fun day for all. Participants are encouraged to release their inner superhero by dressing up in their best costume solo or with sidekicks!  Virtual participants can join forces from January 8-28, 2023 by running or walking 3.1, anytime…anywhere.

Packet Pick-Up

KID will host a packet pick up on Friday, January 27 at Runner's Depot (2233 S University Dr, Davie).
If you are not local, we will mail the shirt to you at an additional cost/donation. Email your address to our KID Hero HQ team at [email protected] Subject line: KID Hero Shirt mailing. Shirt will be mailed after the event.   

Parking

Parking is available in the parking lots located near Shelters 7 & 8 (event site). After you go through the park entrance booths, make a left and drive around to the event site. Parking attendants will be there to greet you! The entry fee into the park will be waived for guests identifying themselves as attendees of the KID Hero 5K.

We strongly encourage all participants and guests to arrive and be parked no later than 7 a.m. The roads within Vista View Park will close to traffic at 7:15 a.m., no cars will be allowed through to the event site. If you arrive after 7:15a.m. You must park at Shelter #1 and walk/run/jog to Shelters 7 and 8. (About half a mile away)

Davie PD will be on-site to ensure no one is on the course while the race is taking place.

Ready, Set, Go! 

Get ready to flex your superpowers to conquer a USTAF certified 5K FLAT course. The 3.1 mile Run/Walk will begin promptly at 7:30 AM.

7:15 a.m. – Roads within the park will close to traffic.  
7:15 a.m. – Warm-Up
7:20 a.m. - Welcome
7:25 a.m. - Line up at the Start Line in this order Runners -> Joggers/Walkers -> Strollers
8:45 a.m. - Awards/Recognition program to begin 
Recognition of Top 3 in each age category 
Age Groups: 7-10,11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75+
Recognition Top 3 overall male and female
