Cherohala 5k

Pre Race Instructions: REGISTRATION and packet pick up will begin at 7 a.m.  at the City Recreational Pavilion. Enter the Community Recreational park at the entrance off Bank Street directly across Skyway Tax Service (161 Bank Street). The tennis and basketball courts will be on your left. You will see the restrooms, playground and the pavilion. Park in this area or the parking lot next to NAPA at 163 Bank Street across the street where you entered. Do Not park in front of the large building as you enter the parking lot.   Grow and Flo Yoga will begin to warm participants up along the walking trail at 7:30 a.m. Participants will walk on the walking trail to the beginning mark for the race. The walking trail leads to the city garden, then a walking trail bridge to the Charles Hall Museum/ Cherohala Skyway Visitor’s Center area on the Cherohala Skyway. FINISH LINE: You will see the arch that marks the end of the race at the end of the Charles Hall Museum property at the corner of Babcock Street and the Cherohala Skyway.  After the race, participants will walk the walking trail (about ¼ mile) back to their vehicles. PARKING for family and friends of the participants: You can park in the areas near the pavilion for free and walk to the finish line which would be by road less than a mile. To get close to the finish line, there is plenty of parking in the field behind the Hall Museum. There is a $5 charge to park in the field. Enter the field at 122 Bank Street at the Event Parking Sign. A parking attendant will tell you where to park. It is an easy walk to the museum and the area where the race will end. There is some parking  including handicapped parking at the museum’s entrance at 229 Cherohala Skyway. There is also a charge of $5 on festival days. There is free parking on some of the side streets toward town. First and Second Place medals will be presented at the Cherohala Skyway Festival main music stage around 9:45-10:00 a.m. The Stage is located at the Charles Hall Museum beside Building 2 and close to the finish line. The Cherohala Skyway Festival has lots of free family activities, food and over 85 vendors. First Baptist Church will be having a free pancake breakfast from 8:30-10 at the Cherohala Skyway Visitor’s Center entrance. Come experience an impressive inaugural Cherohala 5K in Tellico Plains, October 28th at the Cherohala Skyway Festival! Timely registration includes an awesome race Cherohala 5K T-shirt, inaugural keepsake weatherproof  Cherohala 5K logo sticker, chip timed race bib, water before the event and water and snacks after the event! 
Pre-race warm up provided by Grow and Flow Yoga. The spectacular course will start and end along the Cherohala Skyway with sections following the Tellico River! The chip timed race is sanctioned by Personal Best Racing!  Register by October 1 and receive an extra Cherohala 5K logo sticker!  Register by October 16th to be guaranteed a T-shirt! First Place Medals will be awarded to male and female division winners in each age group.
