Charlie Post Classic 5K and 15K

New for 2023 are 5K Walk  and Virtual categories!

Walkers can participate and compete for awards 3 deep in male and female categories. 

Virtual Run/Walkers: For those who want to run/walk at another time/location and honor Dr. Charlie Post we offer the Virtual Race Option!  Everyone who registers for the virtual option will receive (via mail to a US, APO or FPO address) a T-Shirt and finishers medal! There will be no awards in the virtual category, registrants will not need to submit finisher information. 

The Charlie Post Classic 15K and 5K run and walk is the signature running event of the Charleston Running Club. Now in its 40th year, this race honors the memory of Dr. Charlie Post, a well-known Charleston runner, triathlete, and family physician who volunteered his time and medical talents to the running community. Dr. Post was a very active member of the Charleston Running Club, served as the head of the College of Charleston’s student health services, and was also the school’s team physician for varsity sports.

Age group and award breakdown:

First, second and third overall male and female for 15K Run, 5K Run and 5K Walk.
First Master (40 - 49) male and female for 15K run and 5K run
First Grandmaster (50 - 59) male and female for 15K run and 5K run
First Senior Grandmaster (60 years and older) male and female for 15K run and 5K run
Top 3 in the following age groups for the 15K run and 5K run:  (10 and under,11-14,15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80 and over.
