Bali Hope Ultra Marathon

As first time supporters of this event, and in fact any such event, as part of a support crew, my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the amazing experience. This run is built around a whole week of amazing events, it's about relationships, we formed new friendships and really appreciated the interaction with elite athletes, it certainly is inspirational and has changed the course of my life. Easily one of the best weeks of my life. Tom and the team have created something truly special with the Bali Hope Ultra. From the moment you land in Bali to the moment you leave, everything is looked after for you. The run itself is a unique experience, running across Bali through the middle of the night is magical! But it's all of the other stuff which make this event what it is. The community spirit, the school visits so you can really see how the donations make an impact, the friendships and bonds that are built between a group of like minded people. I will 100% be back in the future.

I have run the Bali Hope Ultra twice now and both times it was the highlight of my year. Meeting new friends while running and raising money for education made this experience amazing. I highly suggest taking part in this if you can. I plan on returning many more times.

Longest distance that I have ever run but totally able to finish. Mind over matter.

The whole week of the Bali Hope Ultra is so well organised with meaningful events aimed at ensuring that your experience creates real impact. Your efforts as a runner are tied seamlessly into the local impact that you make through the work of the Bali Children Foundation. The running event itself is life changing and very rarely in life do you get to run across an island coast to coast through the night in such a way. The support crews are amazing and make sure that you are well looked after throughout the night until you reach your goal. Highly recommend.

Participating in the Bali Hope Ultra was a truly transformative experience. Covering 84 kilometers from Bali's north to south, with a challenging 1800m elevation in the first 21km, I pushed my physical and mental limits while raising funds for the Bali Children’s Foundation. The event’s impact day was a personal highlight, spending time with underprivileged kids, reminding us of the greater purpose. On race day, the scenic yet grueling route is a true test, but running alone in Bali’s serene landscapes made it a peaceful and holistic. Once crossing the finish line with I was filled with a deep sense of accomplishment—both for completing my first ultra marathon and for making a difference in the lives of Bali’s children. This is more than a race; it’s an opportunity to create real, lasting change.

Unreal experience! For my first ultra this was incredible. Running in a smaller group meant receiving great support & were not just a number. You get to know everyone really well over the week & for many become long term mates. It is also great to see & experience first hand where your fundraising efforts go to. Great experience & will do again!

Bali Hope is far from just an ultra this is a lifetime experience one that I’ve been fortunate enough to of run 2023 & 2024 both times sharing the experience with my family. I’ve ran many ultras from local to interstate to overseas and the big stand out difference with Bali Hope is the connection and experience you’ll take away for a lifetime. If it’s something you’ve been looking at stop procrastination and hit the sign up button. We waist money on so many waisted things Bali Hope is a lifetime investment.

84 klm might be something you’ll look at and think this is un achievable, with no cut off times and very manageable terrain and on course support crews which are very frequent and a vibe that gives you a high line no other.

My favourite week of the year! Some ultras just grab you for life and Bali Hope is one of them. You make lifelong friends, achieve something that’s truly unique physically, and have a lasting impact on kids who wouldn’t otherwise have a chance at life. Bali Hope builds a true legacy for all who run it and all the children benefit from the event. An amazing week with amazing people ❤️

An ultimately rewarding a fulfilling experience. From start to finish, the entire Bali Hope Ultra event is full of connection, impact, and adventure. The team made me feel supported every step of the way, from the logistics of getting around Bali, to the run itself. This event was by no exaggeration life changing for and I can only thanks thr BHU team for making that possible. It's not an easy week, nor an easy run, but the BHU teams makes the hard doable the incredible possible.

Participating in the Bali Hope Ultra marathon this May with my husband Rob was a truly transformative experience. Running through the stunning landscapes of Bali, we were inspired by the camaraderie and support of the other runners and amazing crew. The challenge of our first ever ultra marathon was met with teamwork, resilience, and a shared commitment to making a positive impact. Crossing the finish line together was a moment of triumph and celebration, reinforcing our belief in the power of collective effort to create change. This experience has left a lasting impression on both of us. A special thanks to the amazing organising committee led by Tom, who pour their heart and soul into making this so much more than a running event.

The first about 20km is up a mountain. Recommend taking poles particular if you are recovering from any leg injuries

A life changing event that I would do again a million times over. This event is much more than an Ultra Marathon. It is an opportunity to change lives, create life long relationships with people from all over the globe, and is the best way to explore the island of Bali.

84km is certainly a distance that will push you to your limits. There are other factors such as the elevation and the heat that certainly make this race a one of a kind.

A 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ event that should be recognized as one of the best ultras on the planet. Nothing compares to being a part of this event and nothing will ever come close. You run across the island of gods through the night under the stars. Unbelievable.

The most amazing, I'd say race but it so much more than that it's a journey the night of the run and the event it's self the whole week an absolute amazing experience and wouldn't have changed anything.

Hands down, the best experience of my life! The support and organisation are outstanding, from the moment you sign up. This was my first long-distance running event and I was apprehensive about entering and training for such a distance and elevation. However, the training plan they offer, the Zoom calls, and support as and when you need it proved to be invaluable. The event gives you access to a side of Bali many people would otherwise not experience. Engaging with the Bali Children Foundation and seeing the incredible work they do will leave a lasting impression and ensure you complete this phenomenal run! The course itself is incredible, running overnight through Bali is a life-changing experience, You will make friends for life and know that you can push your body to its absolute limit, to help others. If you are even thinking about signing up, do it. You won't regret it.

I had never run further than half a marathon before signing up! Since running it once, I have gone back a second year and also completed my first marathon...and there's lots more to come!

Fantastic event! Tom hosts an incredible week long experience that is so much more than a run. It is the people and the impact that it not only has on the Children in Bali but also each of the runners involved and volunteers. I found it a truely life changing week and I got to experience the best bits of Bali. I will be back for sure!!
