About the event
Since 2019 we've held 12 of these amazing grass roots Wonders Sprint Triathlons. Athletes agree that there's few things better than spending a mid-week Summer night racing at one of the most stunningly beautiful parks in the Northeast. We know that not everyone can make it to Wawayanda. So last year we created a special Saturday morning edition, and we're holding it again as the final race in the series in September.
All racers get wooden finisher plaques and we do podiums for top 3 in each category for men's & women's (and boys & girls) fields.
As a community based grass roots triathlon we're keeping registration fees low and greatly appreciate your family, friends and Kid's parents signing up to volunteer at event.
Your USA Triathlon sanctioned race starts with a 400 Meter swim in majestic Wawayanda Lake - one of the most picturesque lakes in the Northeast. Next you'll be doing two 4 mile loops of the park road. Any bike will do here - Tri, Road, Hybrid, Mountain, Unicycle, whatever - it's all good fun. Top things off with a 2.25 mile run on fire roads and cinder path before finishing and celebrating the joy of completing a Wednesday night triathlon.
Duathlon will start with the same 1 Mile Run as the Kids Tri, then the 8 mile bike followed by another run of the 2.25 mile run loop.
Kids Race will be 100 Meter Swim, 4 Mile Bike and 1 Mile Run.
Packet Pickup opens 6:45 AM with kids races starting at 8:00 AM and Adult Tri/Duo at 8:15 AM
RACE MAPS
(Note - swim will be in reverse direction for the Saturday edition)
Dates on registration page are correct - we're updating map images.
We're testing a new version of the 2.25 mile route as part of the Off-Road Sprint Triathlon at XTERRA New Jersey on April 28 (TriReg.com/XNJ). It's fun and flowy and adds single track to the race loop. We are considering using this new loop for the Wonders Triathlons as well and will announce following the April race.
Course Maps
Bike Course Note - Map below is one complete loop. For Adult Triathlon & Duathlon you will not go back to transition area to start second loop. Instead, shortly after the turnaround at far end of park you will go straight at mile 4 to enter into your second loop.
