UGLY SWEATER RACE at Tussey Mountain

Don’t be a KRAMPUS and miss out on the late-season UGLY SWEATER RACE and Holiday PARTY at Tussey Mountain – finish the year strong! This race offers a fantastic opportunity to meet new friends in a unique grassroots mountain biking culture while testing your skills on a challenging course. 

The UGLY SWEATER RACE takes you to Tussey Mountain’s famous and infamous trails, including Three Bridges, Lonberger, Tussey Mountain Ridge Trail, Leniency Trail, and the Double Black John Wert Path. Complete with challenging climbs, fast, fun descents, and technical terrain, this course is both demanding and pleasurable. Embrace the holiday spirit as you ride across the ridge! Each rider will receive a jingle bell to attach to their bike, honoring the memory of a loved one whose spirit is celebrated during this joyful season.

Celebrate the holiday season with teammates and friends by showing your holiday spirit through your attire. After the ride, let’s celebrate the season with a festive party at Tussey Mountain Lodge! Come dressed in your most cheerful holiday attire—think jingle bells, antlers, and those delightfully ugly sweaters! Compete for the UGLY SWEATER awards, which will be presented during the party. This is your chance to mingle with new friends and immerse yourself in the warm cycling culture of this series.

Registered racers and volunteers will enjoy complimentary tickets for a festive meal and Christmas cookies. Our previous holiday menus have included gooey grilled cheese sandwiches, hearty tomato basil soup, and refreshing blue stripe beer from Axemann Brewery. Additional delightful beverages will be available at the Tussey Bar.

9:30 am -10:30 am REGISTRATION Packet pick-up at Tussey Mountain Lodge.

10:45 am Rider Safety Meeting

11:00 am The race will start on time.

Noon First finisher expected.

2:00 pm Award ceremony 

4:00 pm Last rider is expected at 4:00 pm; the Finish line closes after the last rider.
