Trail Mix Challenge - Saturday 11th 12-5pm
We think that you'll find this pretty unique. You'll do a different 5k course on the hour every hour for five hours. 25km sounds like a lot of running but broken down into five chunks, with rest and time to make sure that you are nourished and hydrated, we think that it is manageable for most runners that have completed 5km and 10km races previously. If you find that doing all 25km isn't achievable then why not Try a Trail (or 2 or 3 or 4!) Just do what you can manage and come back in 2020 to have another go! If you wish to be considered for The Quest, however, you will have to register a time for the full 25km. Medal and bling for all finishers. Minimum age 17 years.
Headlight Hop 10km - Saturday 7.30pm
This is a twilight run on the course of last year's Marston Trouble 10km event. It contains seriously rolling hills and seriously beautiful views across the estate. The route snakes along multi-terrain tracks, across farm land and in and out of forest sections. A headtorch is recommended, although many runners will finish while there is still good light. A medal, specially commissioned festival beer and a choice of hot meals for all finishers. Minimum age 15 years.
Thump Half - Sunday 9am
Using different trails to the Hop, this is a two lap route that will provide an interesting challenge to completers and competers alike. If you wish to, there is an option to make this a 10km run by completing one lap only. If you wish to be considered for The Quest however, you will have to register a time at the half marathon distance. This is a very challenging, rolling route and a medal and bling for all finishers. Minimum age of 15 years for the 10k option and 17 years for the HM.
Quest for the Golden Carrot
If you are up for a serious challenge, then The Quest is for you. Complete all of the above events totalling 56.1km over the 24 hour period. The top 6 males and females (lowest cumulative time) will then qualify for the Carrot Dash. This is a 'winner-takes-all-it-all' 1 mile race to win one of two exclusive Golden Carrot trophies. To be eligible, you must have completed the full 56.1km of the Trail Mix Challenge, Headlight Hop 10km and the Thump Half. There will be several opportunities to check the leaderboards throughout the festival. Minuimum age 17 years.
Included in your quest entry is a meal and beer after the Hop 10km, free evening entertainment and a camping pass for you and special exclusive Golden Carrot bling.
Entertainment
We know how much runners like to party. On the Saturday evening after the Hop 10km has finished, things wil start to happen on the ents stage. There will be a set from a comedian, an inspirational speaker and finally a set from a local band. Details of the acts will be confirmed as they become available.
Camping
The site will have basic camping facilities with pitches suitable for tents, camper vans and caravans. There will be toilet facilities and cold running water but no electric hook ups. Open fire and BBQs will notbe allowed on site. As it is a working farm, dogs will not be permitted to be with athletes or spectators.
Prices
The Trail Mix Challenge, Headlight Hop 10km (including food and beer) and Thump Half are priced at £25 each.
The Quest for the Golden Carrot is priced at £75 and includes a food and beer voucher, free entertainment, camping, exclusive Golden Carrot bling and the chance to qualify for the Carrot Dash.
Combined entertainment/camping passes are priced at £5 for athletes and £10 for spectators, and can be added during registration.
If at any point you wish to upgrade from a single event to the Quest, a second event or add entertainment or camping passes then you can do so by logging into your Rider HQ account.
In between the events there will be evening entertainment in the form of music, comedy and inspirational speakers and drop-in yoga classes, massage, food, drink and camping facilities.
