About the event

Welcome to the Douro Verde Half Marathon in Baião, Portugal. This 21km race, organized by the Ribadouro Nautical Club, EVENTSPORT and PORTOCARGO Runners, aims to promote health and quality of life through sports. Participants also have the option of a 10km walk through the lush green landscapes of Baião. Known for its natural beauty, Baião is home to stunning sights such as Serra da Aboboreira, Serra do Marão, the Serra do Castelo de Matos, and the Douro, Teixeira, and Ovil rivers. Come explore this undiscovered region of Portugal and experience a scenic run like no other.

Course highlights

The “Douro Verde” International Half Marathon starts and finishes in Ribadouro - Baião, next to the Douro Royal Valley Hotel & SPA. It follows the N211 national road towards Mosteiró Bridge, crossing it to the south bank of the Douro River, following the CM1022 to the Carrapatelo dam, crossing the Douro River again to the north bank, following the road alongside the river to the finish line next to the same hotel.
