Kids & Cops Doughnut Run-5K/1Mile Fun Run

In honor of Child Abuse Prevention Month, Brightpoint (formerly Children's Home & Aid) and the Granite City Police Department invite you to participate in our race to end child abuse. EVENT DETAILS & RULES:

Overview:  Our 4th Annual Kids & Cops Doughnut Run is a day of fun and awareness, offering both a competitive 5K and non-competitive 1 Mile Walk/Run. The 5K is a great option for those looking for a challenge, but this is also the perfect event for those looking for a fun day out with the family, a walk in a beautiful park, and/or a way to support a good cause. Prior to the race intro at 9:15am, we will have refreshments, music, kid's activities, the opportunity to explore first response vehicles, as well as a photo opp with our always awesome mascot, The GIANT Doughnut Man!

Event Location Details: Wilson Park in Granite City, IL. Start and finish will be on 29th Street near Park Pavilion #5.

Registration Fee for both 5K & 1 Mile: $30 for ages 19+, $10 for ages 6-18, 5 & under free. Registration includes a t-shirt for those who register by April 11th. (See more info regarding t-shirts below.) Refreshments and kids' activities also included in registration fee. Registration cost is non-refundable. 

Registration Deadline: Online registration will be available until 11:59pm on April 24th. After this, those interested in attending will need to register on-site the morning of the race, anytime between 8am-9am.

Registration Check-In:  Race Day from 8am-9am on 29th Street near Park Pavilion #5. Walk-in registrants welcome.

Timeframes: Check-In, On-Site Registration, & Kids Activities--8am-9am. Welcome & Intro--9:15am. 5K & Fun Run Kickoff--9:30am.

Competitive awards: Offered only to 5K participants and only those ages 6 & over. Competitive award categories include: Overall male and female, plus medals for the top 2 male and female finishers in each competitive race: 6-9, 10-14, 15-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+   ***Runners ages 5 & under are welcome to run in the 5K with their family or be pushed in a stroller but do not qualify for competitive age group awards.

Finisher's medals: will be available to 5K and Fun Run participants of all ages.

T-Shirts: T-shirts and sizes are guaranteed for those who complete on-line registration on or before April 11th.  ANY REGISTRATION AFTER THAT DATE WILL NOT BE GUARANTEEED A T-SHIRT but extra shirts will be provided if available for late registrants on a first come, first serve basis.

Basket Raffle: Purchase tickets morning of race for a chance to enter a drawing for the basket/baskets of your choice! Baskets will be filled with fun items, gift cards, and/or other exciting offerings!

Photo Disclaimer: There will be a photographer on site capturing pictures of the event. Since this is a public event, we reserve the right to post photos on our social media or agency website. Photos may also be used in promotional materials.

Cancellation: Should we need to cancel due to inclement weather or circumstances beyond our control, registration fee is non-refundable and will become a donation to benefit children in our programs.  In the event of last-minute cancellation, we will do our best to notify pre-registrants before their arrival.
