Sea, sand and almost 27 miles. You start and finish by the sea and run through a golf course in the heat. I ran past the road leading to my hotel twice, but I did not give up to sit by the pool. There were plenty of refreshments and the pacemakers did their jobs and checked you were okay. There was a friendly vibe and it was okay to walk if you were tired. I discovered my power-walking is only a minute slower than my shuffling after 18 miles so I may have to incorporate the former into my training for my next marathon. As I came into the home straight my watch said 26.2, 26.3, 26.4...and almost 26.8 miles. An enjoyable race but end, end, end.

I stuck with the 4hr pacemakers for 18 miles before falling back. When I saw the four hour pacemakers later, most of the runners had fallen away. Hot, tough but I recommend it.
