A great atmosphere with the locals through a beautiful journey in the heart of the island. It is a quite challenging race with generally a weather above 24°C (almost no shadows) with almost 300m ascent (with ups and downs) but this experience worth it. After the race, around the auditorium, there is also a great feast to recover with local products.

amazing crowd, well organised, with a real greek feast after the races. the 21 km route is a bit hard and hilly but it worth it, esp when you recover after drinking rakes. :) want to go again next year

slopes but nice

This is the best and most happy race I have ever attended. It is like a big celebration! It is not important if you finish first or last, if you are slow or fast. For them every athlete is important! You will find water, sponges, electrolytes and fruits in all the available stations even if you are one of the last participants and the volunteers are there to help you. In some of the stations you can find food and Raki(the traditional alcoholic beverage of Crete)! At the finish line we got a wonderful handmade ceramic medal. And then the party began! Awards for the first runners, traditional music, dance and food. Note that everything was very organized and it was very easy to get there. Furthermore, it was a cheap race and it also had a generous package. This is the most hospitable race I ever attended! They made me feel like my home! I strongly recommend it!!!

The route through five picturesque villages, olive groves and vineyards, you can say that is at least amazing! In every village there were people of all the ages, some of them are grandparents or little kids, waiting to welcome you like you were a special guest at their house! Also all the volunteers were very cheerful and helpful. Another very nice addition to this race were the many stations with different types of music. To be honest the route is not the easiest... But is totally worth it!

This is my favourite race by far!!! The surroundings and scenery were amazing. The entire race felt more like a small celebration. Everything was also well-organized and as a foreign runner it was extremely hassle-free to enter and receive information. It's also a huge plus that KTEL provides bus transportstion for €4 to and from the event from Heraklion. The after-party with a mini Greek feast and traditional music and dance made this race even more enjoyable. I can't wait to do it next year!

Mostly flat only a few small hills. Drinking stations were ok. A nice distance with both rural and country-side scenery.

This was the most beautiful race I have ever run! The organization was excellent, the hosts welcomed us with incredible warmth, and the route took us through breathtaking scenery. However, the race was extremely challenging and a real test for every runner. I’m so glad I had the chance to experience this amazing event!

Great experience, good atmosphere. I will recommend it to everyone who likes running. The only thing that could be better in my opinion is the attention for the non speaking Greek participants. Being proud of athletes coming out of more than 50 countries a bit more in English for instance would be a big plus.

The first 5km going down, the last 5km going up, I personally prefer the other way, first up than down;)

It haw taken a place to my yearly running calendar.I tried to find something negative but it was impossible. The race package is really rich the bag the T-shirt are of high quality and the handmade medal is a piece of art . The most fantastic part is that all the after race activities and food are included in the price. The energy, the music and the encouraging volunteers throughout the race made me not want to finish. see you next year! i cant wait

A bit difficult but amazing

It’s just a unique experience. It’s something more than a race … the whole atmosphere is amazing . You can experience all Crete through a race … the music , the food, the hospitality, the people, the culture. Everything is there and They are all included in your registration you don’t have to pay extra fee for anything else . And really there are so many Cretan delicacies cooked by locals.

A fantastic route through the countryside .
