About the event
Description of race: Experience the excitement of a 6-hour or 12-hour relay race on the picturesque grassy rolling hills of the Octorara cross country course. Each loop is 2.0 miles long, providing a challenging yet scenic route for participants.Race Director: Hosted by the Octorara Cross Country/Track and Field Boosters, this event aims to support athletes with all proceeds going to their benefit. Teams: Whether you prefer co-ed, all-male, or all-female teams, you can participate as a 1, 2, 4, or 6 person team. Registration allows flexibility for team members to sign up separately, as long as the minimum required number of runners is met for each team.
Rules: To ensure a fair and safe race, runners must stay on the course, wear headlamps during dusk and nighttime, hand off the designated item to the next runner before starting, and show respect for the school property. Keeping noise levels at a minimum after 10 pm is also encouraged.
Aid/Water Station: While there will be unmanned first aid stations, BLS-certified personnel will always be on-site. The water station will offer self-serve options along with light nutrition for participants.
Awards: Recognizing the top team with the most laps in each running group (1, 2, 4, and 6), awards will be presented to celebrate the achievements of the participants.
Food: Be sure to come prepared with your nutrition essentials as food trucks are in the works to provide additional dining options.
Day of Registration: Registration opens at 10am on the day of the event, with payment accepted in cash or check only. Don't forget to bring your headlamps, food, water, and shelter (tent) to make the most of your race experience.
