The Bakers Pride Challenge

Bernard Williams and Company and Auto-Owners Insurance are proud to bring you the ERS Run Fest. Partnering with the Georgia Run for the Fallen to honor our heroes. Help us hand out over 300 unique medals Purple heart medals - each with the name of a fallen hero from Georgia. These medals were minted in 2021 and we will use them until ever heroes medal has a home.

The Distance Options:

6.55 (long 10k - 1 lap)Half Marathon (2 laps)30k ish  (3 laps)Full Marathon (4 laps)

The Bakers Pride Donuts: We will have donuts from Baker's Pride at the start finish line - feel free to eat at every lap or just when you finish!

Virtual Option: Can't come to Savannah to Join us? Participate virtually and receive a shirt, Purple Heart Medal Customized with the Name of a Fallen Georgia hero and a treat to eat! Submit your results and photo online with us. 

The Course: Skidaway Island - starting from UGA - the course is a loop 6.55 long. This is a great spectator marathon with 4 chances to cheer your runner on. This is a fast course because it is flat and fast and predictable. Water stations are regular with 3 on the 6.55 mile course with options to hit one twice. It is a safe try to run because if you hit failure you can drop down easily (this might be a downfall too) Certified so you can use it to qualify for other races.

Packet Pickup: HOWE 2 RUN Friday 11/4 11 to 5 or race day 6am to 7:45am at the start line

The history of the race

The Donut Run was started in honor of and memory of Steve Roach who passed away from a brain tumor. He would always encourage his children to Be Happy and ever now and again you needed to Eat Dessert First. Steve loved Baker's pride and with his last months he made it a point to enjoy lots of sweet treats from the bakery including blueberry fritters. A little silliness, a kind answer, and a loving spirit is all part of his legacy to encourage our community.
