Strides Against Abuse Virtual 5K

Do you enjoy running and the outdoors? Or perhaps you're just looking for an event that the whole family can enjoy? Look no further! The Washtenaw Area Council for Children is proud to present our 2nd Annual Strides Against Abuse 5K! The event will begin at the beautiful Fuller Park in Ann Arbor, with a turnaround point at Gallup Park. In addition to the race, there will be various activities for children, contests, vendors, local sponsors, and informational tabling - a little something for everyone! Please come out and support us while we raise the necessary funding for our continued success in improving the lives of over 12,000 individuals annually.
We will be hosting three races: 1. 9:00am - Competitive 5K run: Go for Gold! This race will be our timed race, for runners interested in competing their way to the first-place finish line.
2. 10:00am - Noncompetitive 5k run/walk: If you're someone who prefers to do things at your own pace, this race is perfect for you!
3. 11:00am - One-mile family/stroller walk: Close out the event with your whole family, as we take some time to enjoy the outdoors together!

Please note: Attendees may participate in multiple races without additional registration.

  Groups of 10 people will receive a free 11th entry! Teams are HIGHLY encouraged!!   Signups made after July 15th may not receive a T-shirt. If this is an issue, please contact the event coordinator, Sasha, for assistance: [email protected].

 

Please come join us for this wonderful and fun-filled event. Your donation will help our organization continue our mission of promoting the safety and wellbeing of children throughout our beautiful community!   How does it work? 1. Register! Registration is open from now until the day of the event. We will also be accepting registrations on-sight on the day of the event.
2. Spread the word! We strongly encourage you to reach out to your friends, neighbors, clubs and organizations.
3. Form your team! 10 registrations = 1 free registration.
4. Have fun with it! We will be holding several contests, such as a contest for best socks. Keep an eye on our social media for more information.
5. Meet us at Fuller Park on July 30th for a joyous morning together!
