Spring Backyard Burn Trail Run - Fountainhead

This race is both in-person and virtual. Fountainhead Regional Park is situated along the banks of the Occoquan Reservoir in Western Fairfax County. This awesome race course is beautiful and consists of hiking trails and a few old dirt roads.  We’ve been racing at Fountainhead for almost 15 years now…and it continues to be a racer favorite. Fountainhead is one of our toughest (meaning awesome) courses with no shortage of rocks and roots.  There are many steep climbs and descents, but none are long.  The only pavement on the course is the first half mile up the park road.

Course Length: 4.7 miles OR 10.1 miles

Virtual Race
Complete your race distance any time between April 23rd and April 25th and then enter your time.  We'll mail you your race t-shirt and invite you to the post-race awards ceremony where we celebrate both the in-person and virtual events!  See FAQs for more information on how the virtual race will work.

Charity partnership
During registration, you will have an opportunity to support a local non-profit Homestretch. The goal of the charity partnership is to first and foremost to raise awareness of the services Homestretch provides to families in our area.  In addition, we hope to raise funds that will directly support their efforts.  Please consider making a donation when you register.  Last year, EX2 events raised over $12,000 for Homestretch!
