Shamrock Run - Portland

I think that this is one of the best 5k runs for a beginner, and likely a great run for those breaking into longer distances. the course has low elevation change and no terrain change. the crowd is large and energetic which energized me at the beginning and throughout. make sure you start within your speed section. since the run is very popular, if you start too far back you’ll find yourself having to bob and weave through a lot of people. For my second 5k in my journey through my new hobby of running, i don’t think i could have asked for a better run in my early development! highly recommended if you live in the area or if you can make a trip to come run.
