Pharmacy on the Move 5K Fun Run & Walk

Don’t miss out! The ASHP Foundation invites all 2024 ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting & Exhibition attendees in New Orleans to the Second Annual ASHP Foundation Pharmacy on the Move 5K Fun Run & Walk on Tuesday, Dec. 10. Step out from the meeting spaces to enjoy a fun event – all while making an impact by raising funds to help move pharmacy forward. Bond with your colleagues, prioritize your health and well-being, and celebrate the pharmacy profession.

The event will occur at the Woldenberg Riverfront Park (adjacent to Audubon Aquarium). The event starts at 6:00 a.m., so you can participate before the main education sessions at the Midyear.

And even more exciting, we will have team competitions and prizes! Form a team with your friends and colleagues, and get ready for a fun and spirited competition. We will award prizes for the team that raises the most money and for the team with the most registered participants. If you still would like to support the event but want to sleep in on the morning of the race, we have the perfect participant category for you – Sleepwalker! You’ll still receive your race shirt, but you can support the event as you happily slumber.

Registration

Online registration for the Pharmacy on the Move 5K Fun Run & Walk opens on Sept. 18. We recommend signing up as soon as registration opens, as the number of participants is limited to 500. Registration closes on the day before the race - Dec. 9 at 5 p.m. CST.

Race Fee: $50 + $4.80 registration service fee

About the ASHP Foundation

The ASHP Foundation is the philanthropic arm of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) and part of the ASHP Enterprise. The mission of the ASHP Foundation is to support ASHP by advancing the professional practice of pharmacists and the pharmacy workforce by funding research and education that improves health outcomes through optimal, safe and effective medication use.

Race Swag

Each participant will receive a commemorative t-shirt, participant ribbon, and chip time. 

Prizes

We will have individual prizes for the top 3 male and top 3 female finishers and the top individual fundraiser as of race time. In addition, we will award prizes to the team that has raised the most money by the start of the race and to the team with the most registered participants.

Where do I find my finisher’s certificate?

Log into your profile on RunSignUp. Once you are in your profile, click on the "Results" tab and you'll see an option to "View Finisher Certificate." Right-click to print your certificate.

Packet Pick Up

All race registrants will get a packet with a Pharmacy on the Move 5K Fun Run & Walk T-shirt and bib. We recommend you wear your t-shirt during the run/walk to demonstrate unity and teamwork across our pharmacy profession. You can pick up your packet on:

1. Monday, Dec. 9 from 10:30 am – 5:30 pm in the New Orleans Convention Center

2. Tuesday, Dec.  10 at the event starting at 5:30 a.m. at Woldenberg Park
 

IMPORTANT: Each runner/walker must pick up their own bib and shirt onsite because there is a waiver that participants are required to sign in person. Transportation will not be provided to and from the race.
