Register now for the must event of your summer racing season. You won't want to miss this adult-only -- 21 and Older -- 10K and 5K Walk or Run! Set in the Village of Los Ranchos at the beautiful Casa Rondena Winery, this flat and fast point-to-point loop course is one to tell your friends and family. Sorry, adults only. They deserve a break and a getaway from the daily chores of summer! Whether you are a weekend warrior, fast on your feet, or want a good time, join us and make this event you will remember! Race participants will receive a souvenir wine glass, a custom finisher medal as a memento of their experience, and post-race refreshments at the finish.

PLEASE NOTE: RACE-DAY REGISTRATION IS AVAILABLE; HOWEVER, ALL PRE-REGISTERED PARTICIPANTS MUST PICK UP THEIR EVENT PACKETS AT “PACKET PICK-UP.”
If you cannot pick up your packets in person at packet pickup, you must decide on a representative to pick up your packet. Any out-of-town participants may pick up their packet on race day at the registration near the start (Taft Middle School) between 7:00 and 7:30 a.m.
Note: This is an over-21 event - an ID will be required when picking up your registration materials and at Casa Rondena Winery to receive your complimentary glass of wine at the finish.
General Race Entry includes race entry, professional race timing, a t-shirt, wine glass, participant finisher medal, and refreshments at the finish. For an additional $15, please consider purchasing the post-event Barbecue immediately after you finish at Casa Rondena Winery. You may register for the Barbecue at the time of registration and/or Packet Pickup or Race Day.
EVENT BARBECUE:
Remember to purchase your ticket for the Post-Event Barbecue at Casa Rondena Winery immediately upon completion of your event. Barbecue tickets will be available at Packet Pickup and the event. Start:
The Sunflower Run will start at Taft Middle School. Please see “PARKING INFORMATION” below for where to park. There is no parking at Casa de Rondena Winery or on roads near the Winery, so please plan to park at the locations described below. NOTE: ALL PARTICIPANTS WHO WOULD LIKE TO BE ENTERED IN THE RESULTS AND BE ELIGIBLE FOR AWARDS MUST WEAR A TIMING CHIP/BIB.
Note: All races will start promptly at the designated times listed above. Allow plenty of time to get to the Start to seed yourself according to your projected pace. If you are driving to the race, plan to arrive early. See parking information below.
The 10K and 5K Run/Walk uses a Gun Start with a Timing Chip finish. The "official time" will start when the gun/horn goes off.

Bathroom Facilities:
Port-a-potties are located near the start and finish. Please allow plenty of time before the race starts to use the restrooms.
Race (Bib) Number Requirements:
Each participant will receive a Race (Bib) number that must be worn on race day. DO NOT alter your race number in any way. Your bib number must be visible and worn on the front outside of all clothing during the entire race to be seen. Bib numbers are non-transferable and MUST be worn by the runner to whom it is assigned.
Medical Support:
Medical staff members will be ready to assist you at any time. Radio communications personnel will be positioned along the course at every aid/water station.
The event officials have the right to withdraw any runner from the race who appears distressed or at risk. If you have a health or medical problem at the Finish Line, please notify event officials or volunteers. Please cooperate if you are asked to go for a checkup. If you need help at any point, please ask for it! If you cannot finish the race, please notify a race official of your bib number so that the medical personnel know.
Are there ID requirements or an age limit for entering the event?
This is an over-21 event. You will need an ID to pick up your event bib near the start. It is important that you have your ID or driver’s license with you when entering Casa Rondena Winery/Finish.

Please Note: The Sunflower Run will be happening rain or shine. Because of the logistics of planning for a race of this size, we cannot offer refunds for any reason. If the weather is severe enough to create an unsafe environment for participants, organizers will cancel the event with no refunds issued.
Note: All participants must have an event bib with a timing chip to participate.
Can I run with an iPod/headphones?
Yes. USATF, the sport's national governing body, recently amended its ban on headphones, iPods, and similar devices. However, athletes competing for prize money cannot use electronic devices such as headphones and earpieces.
Can I run with my GPS device?
Yes, participants may wear their GPS watches. However, these items do not count as “second timing devices" and will not be recognized by the event as official times or distances.
What is NOT allowed on the course?
Participants in the event are prohibited from using video devices, cell phones, computers, cameras, or similar devices. Wheeled devices by participants or any other person authorized to be on the course shall be strictly limited to (a) authorized course marshals on bicycles. Baby joggers, strollers, skateboards, rollerblades, unauthorized bicycles, or any other wheeled device will not be permitted.
Are dogs permitted at the event?
I'm sorry. Although many RunFit events do permit our four-legged friends, this is not one of them.
Do you have a Lost & Found in case I lose something at the Event or on the racecourse?
Yes. We will have a Lost & Found for lost and found items on race day. If you are missing a personal item, please call 505.217-4774.
I am injured and/or cannot run the event (family commitment, work obligation, etc.). Can I get a refund, donate my entry, or transfer my entry to someone else?
No. The sale and/or transfer of race entries/bibs are strictly prohibited and will result in the disqualification and/or banning of any individuals involved from future events. All entry fees are non-refundable and cannot be deferred toward a future event.
If I provide medical documentation of my injury or pregnancy, will you give me a refund?
No. Please refer to our official event rules and guidelines.
Can I defer my entry to the next year if I cannot run this year?
Participants cannot defer their entries to the next year if they cannot run.
Can a friend pick up my packet if I cannot attend Packet Pickup?
Yes. Your friend can pick up your packet for you. Remember that this event is restricted to all participants 21 and older. You and your friend(s) will need your ID to pick up your race bib near the start of race morning.

Inclement Weather Policy:
Weather forecasts will be monitored before the event paying special attention to the possibility of heavy rain, thunder and lightning, high winds, and extreme temperatures. If necessary, athletes will be made aware of these predictions on the RunFit website: www.irunfit.org so that participants can properly prepare for severe weather during the race as well as possible course alterations. Severe weather updates will also be sent to participants via email, as necessary. The Race Director will monitor the weather and decide if any action will be taken to modify the race. Possible changes include altering the start time for the race or in extreme situations, cancellation of the event. Please listen closely to all public address announcements at the starting line of the race. Visible lightning will cause the race to be postponed for a minimum of 15 minutes. Additional sightings will continue to delay the race in 15-minute increments. If extreme heat is predicted, extra water will be provided to the athletes, prior to, during and after the event. The medical team will be alerted that athlete may require additional medical attention during and after the event due to the high temperatures.
Finish Information:
The overall and division award winners will be announced at the Awards Ceremony on race day.

Age group awards - 1st-3rd places
*One award per participant.
10K:
Age group prizes will be given to the top three finishers in the following categories: 21-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-79, 80+. Award times will be determined by gun time.
5K:
Age group prizes will be given to the top three finishers in the following categories: 21-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-79, 80+. Award times will be determined by gun time.
