Ice Breaker Challange

The IceBreaker Challenge offers athletes a unique opportunity to test their endurance in a road race alongside rowers from the Albany Rowing Center. Runners and walkers will navigate the scenic Corning Preserve Bicycle Path while competing against rowers gliding in shells on the majestic Hudson River. This event not only provides a thrilling competition but also supports the Albany Rowing Center's mission to increase rowing access for community members of all ages. Join us at the Albany Rowing Center Boathouse in the Corning Preserve for this exhilarating athletic event. Prizes and schwag details will be announced soon. Athletes can sign up starting at 8:00 a.m., with a kids run at 9:30 a.m. and the 5K race at 10:00 a.m. Packet pick-up and last-chance registration will be available at The Albany Pump Station or on race day starting at 8:00 a.m.

Ample parking is provided at the Corning Preserve Boat Launch, with overflow options available. Sponsorship opportunities are also open for those interested in supporting this athletic endeavor.
