Hudson's Heroes 5K Family Run/Walk 25.00 3.1

On December 9th, 2021 the Klotzbach Family found out Hudson (their 3 year old at the time) had stage 4 cancer… Diffuse Anaplasia Wilms Tumor. A few days later he had a surgery to remove his kidney and tumor. The family made the decision to transfer to Cincinnati Children’s to a better hospital to give Hudson the best fighting chance! Since then, he has endured several rounds of chemo, radiation, transfusions, surgeries and many unplanned hospital stays. On November 22nd, 2022 when Hudson was just weeks away from remission the Klotzbach’s received heartbreaking news… the tumors had grown and another was found. His percentage became lower than 8% and he was only given months unless a cure could be found. Hudson’s only option was to try an experimental drug, in which was found unsuccessful; however, his incredible parents were going to continue to fight. They decided to try a round of ICE to see if it could reduce the size of the tumor. Despite getting promising results on January 17th, 2023 that the tumor had shrunk over 50%, he then endured excruciating pain just 9 days later resulting in him returning to the hospital. Doctors performed emergency tests and scans and discovered that in just one week’s time, the tumor had not only grown back but was bigger than ever before. With the size of the tumor, surgery was too risky to attempt so they had no other options but to keep Hudson comfortable and pain free. Hudson gained his angel wings on March 2nd 2023.

In Hudson’s short 5 years on this earth, he has touched so many lives. He was a true warrior and fought so very hard his entire journey.
