Hippity Hop Half Marathon - 10K - 5K - Cottontail Dash

Join us for our 10th Annual Hippity Hop Half Marathon / 10K / 5K / Cottontail Dash event as we continue an Easter tradition at Peoria Sports Complex.

 

 

The Cottontail Dash is an untimed half mile fun run with an egg hunt along the route. All participants receive a finisher's medal and a shirt.

You are welcome to bring your own bag/basket or one will be provided for you. Eggs are handed out by volunteers so that everyone will come away with equal amount of eggs.

Parents who only want to accompany their children on the course do not need to register. The Cottontail Dash event has a 100 person limit.

  Virtual Run Details 

Of course we want you to participate in the Hippity Hop event locally but we understand things come up. So, if you can't join us on race day and still want to run, get the medal and the shirt then you still can! Here is your chance to take part in this event no matter where you are! And of course, all prices include shipping! Please note that all items will ship following the event on March 30th.

8 & Under, 9 & 10, 11-13, 14-17, 18-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75 & Over

Pre- and Post-Race "Runner's Brunch" (granola bars, fruit, water, Gatorade, etc)

Chip Timed with Real Time Results and Photos on our Website or Mobile App (on Apple and Google)

Race Day Information 

Race Day Registration will be available beginning at 6:00am.

We accept cash, check, and credit cards on race day

Prices on Race Day: Half Marathon - $90 10K - $60 5K - $50 Cottontail Dash - $30

We welcome wheelchairs, strollers & wagons.

No roller blades, skateboards or motorized devices are allowed on the run or walk courses.

Leashed pet friendly

The course will take you through dedicated running trails (all asphalt and concrete) of the New River Trail System, starting and ending at Peoria Sports Complex - meaning no need for transportation before or after the race just to get back to your car! Please note - this is an open use trail system and does not close for our event.

Due to the common start/finish line, there is no bag check for this event.

This event will take place rain or shine. There are no refunds or transfers due to weather.

There is a 4.5 hour time limit for the half marathon distance.

Water Station and Course Support 

Water and Gatorade will be located at the following locations:

Half Marathon: Miles 1.55, 3.11, 4.5, 6, 7.3 (turnaround), 8.5, 10.1, and 11.55 10K - Miles 1.55, 3.11 (turnaround), 4.66 5K - Mile 1.55

GU Gels will be available for half marathon runners at miles 6.25 and 11.

Restrooms will be located at:

Half Marathon - Miles 2.5, 6, 8.5, and 10.6 PLEASE NOTE: The restrooms at mile 2.5 and 10.6 will be located off the course in Rio Vista Park (next to the running path/trail and playground structure). 10K - Miles 2.5 and 3.7 PLEASE NOTE: The restrooms at mile 2.5 and 3.7 will be located off the course in Rio Vista Park (next to the running path/trail and playground structure)   Packet Pickup Opportunities 

You will have two opportunities to pick-up your race packet (bib, chip, event swag, etc):
