EVENT INFORMATION:

The Kids Races at Piper Field will commence at 9am. Please arrive at 8:45am to sign in.

The 5K will commence at 10am at the Post Office on Smith Street (just down the hill from Piper Field) and finish at the Community Center (12 Humphrey Street) with a festive feel. Tents, treats and lots of turf goodies will be there to celebrate with all our participants. Please arrive outside the Post Office at 9:30am to sign in.

FUND THE FIELD 

A critical element of the Marblehead community needs our support. Piper field, a multi-purpose turf field at MHS, is utilized by organizations well beyond MHS Athletics. It is a staple for graduation ceremonies, the Marblehead Band, High School and Youth Soccer, Lacrosse, Cheer, Football, Field Hockey, Flag Football, Adult Men’s Soccer, Unified Athletics, student gatherings, camps, and more. After 10 years of meticulous maintenance, the turf at Piper field reached the end of its lifespan and needs to be replaced to meet safety and industry standards.

Our Fund the Field campaign is raising capital to:

replace the carpet and fill of the turf,
improve fencing and netting,
install end zone padding, and
increase storage space at Piper field.

Additional goals are to:

improve the sound system,
provide outdoor bathrooms, and
improve the entrance to the Field House
install a second turf field in Marblehead, allowing more activities to carry on during our ever changing New England weather.

The campaign also includes establishing a long term maintenance fund for future turf needs.

Your support will have an impact well beyond Piper field. It will also enable the activities at many other Marblehead fields to continue without adverse impact, avoiding displacement or cancellation if Piper field is closed and will make a positive, inclusive difference in the lives of so many in this beloved town.
