El Grito 5K Family Run/Walk

The event is a culturally vibrant race in Little Village, running along 26th Street prior to the Mexican Independence Day Parade. Open to runners of all fitness levels, the race highlights the neighborhood's rich Mexican heritage. It supports New Life Centers, an organization dedicated to youth leadership, life-on-life relationships, and restorative justice. Their efforts focus on empowering young people and their families. There's also a non-competitive Kids Dash, which is free to join and doesn't require registration. Participants in the main race contribute positively to the transformative community initiatives that strengthen family and youth development.
