Scout Troop 501 5K RUN/WALK  &  Fun Run
To benefit BSA Sea Base Crew 501

            DJ, warm-up stretching, post-run mini massages, awards for top M/F in each category
                                                           refreshments & MANY prizes
                    In the Spirit of Fitness & Friendly Competition, we're also having a special contest :
                 Troop 501 Scouts & Parents CHALLENGED our local first responder and military departments to a race.
                                                             We will see who of us is the fastest!
                                              The following were challenged - only the bravest will accept:
Our Local Police Departments: East Brunswick PD, South River PD, Sayreville PD, Spotswood PD, Old Bridge PD, Spotswood PD, Milltown PD, New Brunswick PD & on their home turf North Brunswick PB; Local Fire Departments, Local First Aid Squads & RWJ Emergency Squad in EB; Navy, Marine Corps, Army & Air Force Recruit offices, local VFW's & American Legion & any active duty or veteran military.
[these will sign up as challengers - $20/p - & will wear their own department/agency shirts so we can cheer them on.
Rules: scores of each group's top 3 runners will be averaged. Highest average wins the honors]

REGISTRATION & BIB PICK-UP:
BIB Pick-up is on Saturday 9/16 11am-2pm at Road Runner Sports - 501 Shoppes Blvd, North Brunswick, NJ 08902
Race Day - 7:00 – 8:00 AM at North Brunswick Community Park

SCHEDULE: Kid’s Fun Run @ 8:30 AM - 5k Run @ 9:00 AM
                                       Walkers and Strollers are welcome

FEES:         5K
                   $30 - includes dryfit t-shirt
                   $25 - includes t-shirt before August 31, 2013                            $30 beginning September 1st
                   $20 - no shirt included to our First Responder & Military Challengers
                   $20 for 12-15 years old-includes t-shirt
                   Kid’s Fun Run - $10 for children 12 and under (no t-shirt)

COURSE: Flat & fast through the tree lined path of North Brunswick Community Park (2 water stops)
AMENITIES: Pre-event warm-up, Post-Race Refreshments, DJ , Raffle & various Prizes.
                      Post event mini-massages, sponsors will have tables for info, bring kids: there's a great playground, dog park within few steps
AWARDS: 5K Top male & female runners of all age groups
                  ALL kids will get a medal for the Fun Run
                  Fastest overall M & F runner win Free Shoes Certificate from Road Runner Sports ($150 value each)
                  A special award to winner of our first responder/military challenge
                  1st 50 to register will be entered into a drawing to receive $50 gift certificate from one of our sponsors (drawing on day of event)
