AU Wellness Hot Dog Day 5k Walk/Run

Alfred University Wellness Center Hot Dog Day 5k Walk/Run In-Person Race: April 20th, 2024  - Check-In Registration at 8:00am - Race Begins at 9:00am Virtual Race Dates: March 20th - April 20th, 2024 - Feel Free to Complete at Your Own Pace In a Location of Your Choice!

Date of Event and Location: The In-Person Run/Walk will take place on April 20th, 2024 as part of Alfred New York’s Annual Hot Dog Day (HDD) Celebration. The 5K Run/Walk will begin and end at the Village Bandstand located on the front lawn of Alfred University. 

Donation Information: Alfred University Wellness Center has chosen to raise awareness for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and all proceeds from the 5K Walk/Run will be donated to AutismUp, a Western New York based organization dedicated to meeting the needs of individuals and their families who are on the Autism Spectrum. Please note that Alfred University and the Alfred University Wellness Center are in no way affiliated with AutismUp and the Wellness Center is providing a donation with funds raised solely from the proceeds of this event..

Registration/Check-In Information- In-Person Race: Registration and check-in will begin at 8:00am at the Village Bandstand and is required for all participants. Please ensure that you allow yourself adequate time to park and register/check-in.

Emergency Information and Liability Waivers: All participants of in-person as well as virtual Run/Walk categories will be required to agree to liability waivers found in the registration form. 

Start Time: The 5K Run/Walk will begin at 9:00 am.

Cost: The cost of participation for both the in-person and virtual races is $10 for K-12 students as well as students of the Alfred University and SUNY Alfred State Communities. For all other community members, the cost of the virtual and in-person 5K Run/Walk is $20.

T-Shirt Availability Disclaimer: T-shirt distribution will be based on a limited-availability basis to the participants of the in-person 5K Run/Walk ONLY. The registration form will record your t-shirt size and all efforts will be made to distribute available t-shirts in requested sizes.

Food/Water for the Walk/Run: Light snacks and bottled water will be provided to participants free of charge thanks to our generous donors such as Wegmans and AVI Foodsystems.

Prizes: Prizes will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place overall finishers of the in-person 5K Run/Walk. 

Race Timing Disclaimer: Please note that this is considered a non-competitive “Fun” Run/Walk and official times will not be recorded or considered for any purpose other than to give prizes to the first three overall finishers of the Run/Walk. 

Water Stations: 2 water stations will be set up along the course of the race route.

Refund Policy: Please note that we are unable to process refunds at this time. 

About the Alfred University (AU) Wellness Center: The AU Wellness Center is a comprehensive facility that provides free medical, counseling, and health education services to students of the Alfred University Campus. Each year, the AU Wellness Center hosts the Hot Dog Day 5k Run/Walk in an effort to raise donations for a notable health-related cause.
