Township Marathon

The objective of the Township Marathon is primarily to bring the sport to the people and mutually draw the people to the sport. To develop the culture of athletics in our communities by rehabilitating and integrating delinquent youth through social development programmes via sport.
This opportunity offers runners from different backgrounds and from all sectors of the community too share a common experience by creating mutual understanding and acceptance. To create an increasing awareness too both runners and the public and position the race as the most prestigious inland marathon in the country. This process has already been achieved to a certain degree over the last twenty-one years, since its inception.
