-JOIN US for the 38th Fort Bend Kia SUGAR LAND TURKEY TROT, in honor of race director Andy Stewart, who passed away on Nov. 9, 2021. The running community and Andy’s family want to continue the tradition of the Thanksgiving Day race as a tribute to all Andy did for the sport of running, especially his support of charities. - This event is a great local Thanksgiving Morning FAMILY TRADITION. Come RUN on a fast course, with a fast downhill first mile through the beautiful, quiet, safe Sugar Creek subdivision. A PR COURSE! Our young bagpiper from St Thomas Episcopal brings you into the finish area. The Original Trot in the Houston area and The Best!

-Packet Pick up details: Two days of Packet Pickup/Late Registration: Tuesday, November 21, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. @ Fort Bend Kia 26633 SW Freeway, Rosenberg, TX 77471. Wednesday, November 22, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. @ Fleet Feet-Sugarland 15890 Southwest Freeway, Sugar Land, TX 77478. Race Day Packet Pickup for out-of-towners only. No race day registration.
-Post Race Party will include Awards ceremony, Costume Contest for best dressed ($100 gift card), Prize Drawings, Post Race Snacks, and Beer from Texas Leaguer Brewing.
-Charities: Support many great local causes. Charities include: Fort Bend Rainbow Room, Bel Inizio, Outreach Center of West Houston, Star of Hope, Snowdrop Foundation, East Fort Bend Human Needs Ministry, and Sole Loved. We are Collecting canned goods for East Fort Bend Human Needs Ministry and new and gently used athletic shoes for Sole Loved. Drop off bins for these items will be at the orange Turkey Trot Tent.
-Event Times: -7:30 a.m.: Sean Scroggins Memorial Kids Mile (ages 12-and-under only).
-8:00 a.m.: Bib-tag-timed Coach Andy's Five-Mile Race. Chip-timed race. Time limit of 15:00 pace. Certified, loop-course with marked splits each Mile.
-8:30 a.m.: Aunt Jean's 2.8-Mile Family Walk and Jog. Casual, non-competitive walk or jog, including strollers. No Time Limit. Strollers are allowed in the 2.8-Mile Walk and Jog or Kids Mile ONLY.
- No Refunds, Transfers, or Deferrals. SL Trot does NOT offer refunds, transfers, or deferrals. The vast majority of race expenses are spent prior to Thanksgiving race day, including charity donations. Thanks for understanding. Also, NO bikes in any portion for safety reasons. NOTE: Dangerous weather could force cancellation of this event, without refund or re-scheduling.
-Free Parking
EARLY parking will be in Sugar Creek Village, near Race Start. After 8am, parking is in the large Sugar Creek Baptist Church lots, two blocks further down the 59 feeder. All parking at this race is FREE and close-by. Thanks!

-Volunteers...we need you!
Water station workers, refreshments helpers, etc. Check in at Sugar Creek at 6:30 a.m. SHARP on Thanksgiving. Finished by 10 a.m. We need YOU too to put on the best race possible! Need 100 race volunteers in all. Email [email protected]
-Everyone MUST legally be officially registered, with the 2023 Sugar Land Turkey Trot race number VISIBLE on the front, to run or walk in our event. The Sugar Land Turkey Trot has an official City Parade Permit for the designated Sugar Creek streets the morning of Thanksgiving, from 6:45 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. Unregistered participants will face a charge of "theft of services" and a potential ticket of $500 from SLPD. Thanks for officially registering.
-Medical support
Sugar Land Fire Dept EMT's will provide medical support at the finish line and on call for the course.
-Trot Entry Fees. Register early. Limited Field.
—7:30 a.m. Sean Scroggin’s Memorial Kids Mile. (Ages 1-12, strollers welcome.) EARLY FEE Feb 1-Sept 30, 2023 is $15. October 1st-31st, 2023 fee is $20. November 1st-23rd, 2023 fee is $25.
— 8 a.m. Coach Andy’s Competitive Five-Mile Run (chip timed). EARLY FEE Feb 1- Sept 30, 2023 is $30. October 1st-31st, 2023 fee is $35. November 1-18, 2023 fee is $40. November 19-22 is $45.
—8:30 a.m. Aunt Jean’s 2.8-Mile Family Friendly Walk and Jog. Early Fee through Feb 1-Sept 30, 2023 is $25. October 1-31st, 2023 fee is $30. November 1-23rd, 2023 fee is $35. NO refunds, NO transfers to another person, NO deferrals are offered at SL Trot. Online registration closes Wednesday Nov. 22, 2023 at 5 p.m..
-Strollers allowed in the 7:30 Sean Scroggin’s Kids Mile and the 8:00 Aunt Jean's 2.8-Mile Family Friendly Walk/Jog only. Strollers Not allowed in the 8:00 a.m. Coach Andy's FIVE-MILE TIMED RACE.
- Timing for 5-Mile Race - Bib-tag:
For the Coach Andy's Five-Mile Timed Run only, a white strip is on the back of your race number bib for chip-tag scoring. Wear number chest-high on the front and DO NOT cover your number. Must be visible. Do not fold your number. -Race Timing for 5-miler only is 15:00 Pace Time Limit. Race Timing results from www.RunHoustonTiming.net for the 5-mile only. Awards for First Overall and First Overall Masters (40+) and top 3 in each five-year age group, 14-and-under through 75+, male and female. Awards Ceremony 9am-9:45am.
