Mountaineer 5K - Chandler, AZ

What is the Mountaineer 5k?
The Mountaineer 5k is a 5-kilometer race.  We welcome, runners, walkers, wheelchairs and strollers, but no pets allowed. 
The race benefits Summit Academy Mountaineers athletics and clubs.  These include: basketball, flag football, badminton, soccer, cross country, wrestling, volleyball, baseball, softball, yearbook club, and the ambassadors club.  These sports and clubs provide students the opportunity to participate in competitions, develop communication skills and work as a team.  We are hoping to raise money to provide new equipment to the students that will enrich there extra curricular experiences.  
We also want to raise health and fitness awareness and this is a great opportunity to start or continue your wellness journey!

Overall and Age Group Awards that will be custom made by students in the Art Department.  Awards Ceremony will begin at 8:40am. Our age group awards include the following:
8 and under
9-10 year olds
11-13 year olds
14-17 year olds
18-24 year olds
25-29 year olds
30-34 year olds
35-39 year olds
40-44 year olds
45-49 year olds
50-54 year olds
55-59 year olds
60-64 year olds
65-69 year olds
70-74 year olds
75 and Up

Please note any race-related items (shirts, medals, etc.) will NOT be mailed to those that do not attend and no refunds will be given. 
The Course:
Fast and flat!
We will start at the Summit Academy Junior High Track and run thru the school thru the parking lot, down the alley behind the school then on to the canal.  The majority of the race will be on the canal, and finishing at the Junior High Track.   Packet Pick up:
Packet pick-up will be morning of the race starting at 6:30am. Race Day Information:
Race Day Registration will be available beginning at 6:30am.  We accept cash, and credit cards on race day 
Please note that your shirt size is not guaranteed for those who register on race day.  No roller blades, skateboards or motorized devices are allowed on the run or walk courses.
We run rain or shine. There are no refunds or transfer due to weather.  We will be starting promptly at 8am.
