About the event
Notes about the Event: Thank you to Gary David and John Laupheimer for passing this race to New England Devo. We are looking forward to creating a fun, fast, family friendly, complete cyclo-cross event for you. If you are new, we will have a free clinic to help coach you through the course. If you are super experienced, you know about the slippery stables and hairy horse ring, but we will introduce new challenges and incentives (read down) for you. The course will be designed to challenge every racer appropriately. Come to race - stay for the party!
BYOB: Speaking of party, CLOVER FOOD LAB will be onsite serving up the finest organic, just-cut, local; good for you, good for the planet food around.
Free Clinic: If you are registered to race, you can join the free cyclocross course clinic (just select that button on the registration tab). Experienced racers (maybe even pro racers?) will ride the course with you in a small group, so that you can gain confidence in your riding.
Fees: All proceeds will support New England Devo - an all-volunteer non-profit for the development of junior cyclists from New England. Please consider a donation on bike-reg or at the race!
We have set the cost to encourage new racers to join. Fees include Bikereg.com standard service fee, USA Cycling insurance and per-rider fees in addition to costs for officials, venue, toilets, neutral service, etc etc.
Volunteer: If you have the time, we would love to have you help us. Smash the volunteer box or reach out to the race director and we'll set you up with an appropriate volunteer spot. We have a very short time-frame at the end of the day to completely clean the venue - please consider helping tear-down the course tape and pull stakes.
Prizes: Equal payouts 5 deep in the Pro/1/2/3 fields for Men and Women ($100/70/40/25/15) minimum of 10 racers in the field. Throughout the day we will be crowdsourcing 1st lap primes, group primes, and other incentivizations for all the races. Podium prizes will be venue and event appropriate - look for the Tricorn Hat, and you will see a winner!
Registration: All riders should enter the age-graded race that matches their age as of 12/31/25 ("Cross Age"). Day-of registration will be available from 8:00am until ½ hour before scheduled start time for all fields; a $15 day of registration fee will apply. Snail-mail registrations accepted but must be received by Monday, September 12th and send to Atwood Racing Services, 4 Harvest Ln, Nashua, NH 03063. Additional races are only $20; discounts to be applied through BikeReg.com.
Rules: Mountain bikes are acceptable for the Novice and Cat 4 races…and of course the junior and parent races. Helmets are required at all times when you are on a bike and jerseys must have sleeves. Races may be combined for any reason. There is no warming up on the course during races; the schedule has been designed to allow plenty of warm-up time for riders in between races. Please follow the instructions of the officials when allowed to warm up on the course.
Staging: Pre-registered riders will be seeded in the start grid by their crossresults.com ranking, then order of registration. Day-of registrants will be staged in the back of the grid, no matter if they are ranked or not. The promoters will have final say on the seeding of all riders. Of course, if you don't know about any of this, it doesn't really matter, we'll help you out. Please report to staging no later than 10 minutes before the start of your race; staging will commence 5 minutes before the start of each race, and riders who miss their call-up will gain the challenge of starting at the back.
Junior/Curious Course: The course will be designed by pro's to create an exciting and challenging experience. Junior/curious courses will be shortened to increase the fun, and to include appropriate levels of challenge.
Venue: The Bolton Fair is generously hosting our event, along with the MRC race later in the fall. Please respect the venue as they are a wonderful partner in helping our sport. The address of the venue to get directions from your favorite mapping software is: 318 7 Bridge Rd, Lancaster, MA.
