About the event
Amanda Nauman and David Sheek invite you to Mammoth Lakes, the gateway to mountain adventure, for a gravel event and adventure festival to challenge the toughest of riders. The third annual Mammoth TUFF will take place September 14, 2024, and offers three distances so you can explore your version of TUFF. The short and medium courses will circle the famous caldera while the long course will travel through the Volcanic Tableland formed by the eruption thousands of years ago. The event is partnering with the the Village at Mammoth Lakes to provide live music and a festival atmosphere for the best finish-line celebration.
Join us on Friday for official pre-rides, registration, and the beer run thoughtfully named the Mammoth BUFF. Registration for the BUFF is HERE.
Stick around for free coffee at our Awards Ceremony and the biggest gravel event raffle in the world on Sunday morning.

The 2024 TUFF GUIDE will be released four weeks prior to event day (~Aug 19).
Policy: No refunds. No transfers.. thanks for understanding.
Course/Routes:
Final routes will be released on the week of the event (~Sept 9). We are giving ourselves the flexibility to tweak the routes until the week of the event due to road conditions and safety factors.
We are building a TUFF community of gravel riders that can take on any event, although this might be the TUFFest. All TUFF riders will be expected to be mostly self-sufficient. This means you will carry all individual items (Nutrition, Hydration, Clothing, Tools etc) necessary for up to 50 miles at a time. Traditionally there will be one aid station for the short route, two for the medium, and three for the long. Our theme of self-sufficiency also applies to navigation as you will be required to navigate on your own.
