Maderia Mixed Madness

Madeira mixed madness is an event offering 4 different races: The 1 mile swim, 5k Swim, the 10k Swim, and a (1mile run, 1 mile swim, 1 mile run). Overall and Age group awards are all hand made local. Participants get local memorabilia and swim caps. All proceeds from race are split between two charities: Forgotten Coast K9 trains veterans and first responders to train their own service dogs, places trained Emotional Support dogs with veterans, and helps buy service dogs for veterans and first responders that can not train their own and Open Water/ Open arms bringing swimming to underprivileged communities. Live music on the beach pre and post race. This race is a fundraising event, there are no deferrals or refunds for any reason, all funds go to race expenses and then directly to the non-profits, you may change events on the same day but we do not refund money for switching to a less expensive race.

Wet Suit Policy: Water temp will probably be in high 70's-low 80's, wet suits will not qualify for awards, if you wish to wear a wetsuit, you must declare at checkin. 

Kayaks: Kayaks can be rented from Sandy Feet Mobile Kayaking- Mary Jo - 727-200-3142, Let her know you are with the Fresh Start Swim Series, Kayaks are Required for 10k  Be AWARE race day that there may be multiple kayak companies working together to deliver kayaks. So just because one company doesn’t have you on their list doesn’t mean your kayak didn’t show up. 

Kayakers are necessary for the 10k, and welcome for the 5k. If you would like to hire a kayaker please do so during registration. All kayakers must register as volunteer paddle support. Kayaks can be rented through Mary Jo Jimmy of Sandy Feet Kayaking 1 (727) 200-3142.
