Lexington XC Dog Days of Summer 5K and Dog Walk

The Lexington Dog Days of Summer 5K Run and Dog Walk is sponsored by the Lexington High School Cross Country to help promote the benefits of exercise, running, as well as the well-being of companion pets, dogs.  The races will take place 8:00 a.m., Saturday, August 3, 2024 starting and finishing at Ray Ehlers Stadium at Lexington High School, Lexington, Nebraska. The course will leave the stadium, continue on 13th street to the airport, go north on airport road to 20th street and loop back to the high school. Water stations will be available for both humans and dogs along the course.

T-shirts will be available for entrants pre-registered by July 26, 2024 and free dog item and dog treats for those walking with their dogs.  5K registration (run/dog walk)  fee increases to $25 per person after July 26, 2024. The top male and female runners (non-high school age) in the 5K race will win a gift certificate.  In addition, age-division awards will be presented along with a drawing for prizes for entrants.  Refreshments will be available following the race.

Proceeds will go to the Lexington Cross Country team to help purchase training watches and a donation will be made to the Humane Society and/or Animal Rescue.
