About the event
Join us as we celebrate Recovery and Hope during our 2nd HOPE Runs for Recovery 5k. In these pandemic times, mental health issues and substance use disorder have skyrocketed. No household has been untouched by some kind of mental health challenge during this extraordinary time. Now as we think about venturing out, we can consider the things that help us stay healthy - connecting in community, sharing and celebrating with others, and moving our bodies. Our HOPE Runs event is about all those things! Additionally, we will be commemorating 25 years of Hope Homes/HOPE Recovery in 2021. Join us as we celebrate health, healing, and community. Our 1st HOPE Runs was an enormous success with nearly 500 people at the event - we hope to double that number this year. We will have COVID-19 safety precautions, and the run can be done virtually as well. We are pleased to launch a 2nd 5K in Atlanta GA on September 12 at Chastain Park. Come join us to run, walk and celebrate health, resiliency, and HOPE. HOPE.
Proceeds will benefit the Herren Project, the Emerald School of Excellence and the non-profit Hope Homes Inc.
Herren Project is a non-profit founded by former NBA player Chris Herren, and provides individual and family support, treatment and recovery navigation, and prevention and outreach services utilizing networked resources across the country.
The Emerald School of Excellence is North Carolina’s 1st recovery high school, opening for it’s first school year in the fall of 2019 in Charlotte. The school is founded by visionary Mary Ferrari who sought to fill a gap in services for youth and their families impacted by substance use disorder and other mental health issues.
Founded in 1996, Hope Homes Inc. is the non-profit originating foundation of the organization now known as HOPE Recovery. Hope Hopes provides scholarship funding to individuals who would not be able to be in a HOPE community without it.
