Participants / Categories

Racers will register under three categories: Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced.  We anticipate around 200 race participants. Family and Friends are welcome.

Beginner Category: New to riding a mountain bike or riding a non-mountain bike. This route is just under 4 miles (1.9 miles x 2 laps). The route is fairly flat, safe and fun. ANY bike can be used in this category.

Intermediate Category: Fairly comfortable riding. This route is about 9 miles (4.5 miles x 2 laps). The route includes a lengthy gradual climb and a fast single track section, some sandy washes and quick climbs.

Advanced Category: Very confident. This route is around 14 miles (6.8 miles x 2 laps). This route is the longest and includes lengthy gradual climbs as well as some steep and technical terrain, some fast single track sections, and sandy washes and quick climbs.

Non-Racer Participants / Volunteers: We will have categories for the youth who do not want to race but want to help with the first-aid tent or the SAG (water and snacks) tent, or the check-in area. They will be considered Event Staff. (See online “volunteer” link)

Riding Practice: Ride Guides will be available at Usery Park on the following dates for MTB pre-rides to allow youth to be introduced and guided through the various routes:
February 8 & 15 (approx 8am – Noon).
