Tech Trails Trot

Fall is for Cross Country Season! Michigan Tech Cross Country is hosting a 10k/5k navigating the various terrains of the world famous Michigan Tech Trails! All proceeds from the event will be a fundraiser for the cross country program and will be used in their budget to give the student athletes better opportunities and experiences! 

Michigan Tech Cross Country is an NCAA Division II sports that sponsors both men's and women's teams. MTU XC has over 50 student athletes on their roster representing Michigan Tech from all over the country. Student athletes are well spread across all Michigan Tech academic programs and are consistently a studious team with the Women's team boasting a 3.77 GPA last fall with the Men's team not far behind at 3.41. 

Michigan Tech Cross Country has repeatedly represented at the NCAA DII National Championships with two top-10 finishes in the past six seasons. Several Michigan Tech student athletes have taken home USTFCCCA  All-America honors in recent years. Husky XC looks to represent at the NCAA DII Championships this November in Sacramento, CA. 

The 10k and 5k courses will be very similar to each other. The 5k course will be the Traditional 5K Course and the 10K Course will be 5K on the upper trails and the second half will be the 5K course. The Little Huskies 2K will be a fun un-timed race for bragging rights! Thanks to our sponsor, Copper Country Running Company, one male/female finisher of the 10k & 5k races will be selected at random and will be awarded a free pair of shoes! Winners will be announced following the conclusion of the 10k race! Winners of the 10k, 5k, and Little Huskies 2k will have bragging rights over their peers!
