Run Like Baron - Troutville

The annual Run like Baron 5K event honors Botetourt County's first K-9 officer, Baron, who died on duty on August 31, 2017. The event is organized by Friends of Botetourt K-9 Inc., a non-profit organization that provides financial support to Botetourt County Sheriff's Department K-9 unit.

The Run Like Baron 5K will be held on August 10, 2024, and start at 8:30AM. Participants can choose to join the in-person race, virtual race, or fun walk event. The in-person race and fun walk will be held at the Greenfield Sports Complex Cross Country Course in Troutville, VA. The virtual race can be completed from anywhere and the fun walk event is perfect for families and anyone who wants to participate in a non-competitive atmosphere.

All proceeds from the Run Like Baron 5K will go towards Friends of Botetourt K-9 Inc., who supports the active and retired K-9 deputies by providing financial aid for equipment, training, and other essential needs. This event is a great way to show your support for the brave K-9 officers who serve and protect our community.

Sponsorship options are available for businesses that want to support this great cause. There are four levels of sponsorship available:

Primary Sponsor - $5000 - The sponsorship will get you a primary logo on the event shirts, a starting line and finish line sponsor, six signs along the course, a business link on our website / event signup page, and a social media primary sponsorship spotlight.

Lieutenant Level Sponsor - $2000 - The sponsor will get a large-sized logo on the event shirts, four signs along the course, a business link on our website / event signup page, and a social media primary sponsorship spotlight.

Sergeant Level Sponsor - $1000 - The sponsor will get a medium-sized logo on the event shirts, 2 signs along the course, and a business link on our website / event signup page.

Deputy Level Sponsor - $500 - The sponsor will get a small-sized logo on the event shirts and a business link on our website / event signup page.
