À propos de l'événement
In the year 2022, there were 49,449 people who died by suicide in the United States alone. Who are these 49,449 people? They are our children, our cousins, our spouses, our siblings, our parents, and our friends. Suicide is rarely caused by a single circumstance or event. Instead, a range of factors at the individual, relationship, community, and societal levels can increase risk. These risk factors are situations or problems that can increase the possibility that a person will attempt suicide.
This tragic act is the last action a person takes after a struggle of pain, hopelessness and hurt. For those of us who are survivors of suicide loss, we end up bearing the burden of guilt, sadness, and disbelief. Fulshear Treatment to Transition is proud to announce its second annual 5K, Run for Life. We are motivated to increase suicide prevention, not only for our clients, but our communities, our families, and friends.
Our purpose in hosting this 5K is to bring our local community together and share the available resources to help prevent suicide. This event is an opportunity to remember our lost loved ones and Run for Life! All proceeds for the race will be donated to the American Foundation of Suicide Prevention- SE Houston Chapter.
Run for Life will take place on September 21st, location TBD Sugar Land. There are many ways to participate in this event. We need runners, walkers, volunteers, and sponsors. Please join us for this special event and share the information with your friends and family.
