The Red Eagle Gravel Grinder (REGG) is Northeast Ohio’s springtime addition to the exciting gravel bike riding scene.  This year’s ride will once again be held at the Red Eagle Distillery in beautiful Geneva, Ohio.  We will have three fantastic rides for cyclists of all ability:  

43-mile Classic Gravel Grinder22.5-mile Sprint Gravel Grinder 12-mile Family Ride. 

All rides will benefit the STEVEN G CANCER FOUNDATION which advocates for and assists Young Adult and Adolescents in their individual cancer journey.  The Steven G. Foundation website provides detailed information on our mission to build community and support for Young Adults and Adolescents. (WWW.STEVENGCANCERFOUNDATION.ORG).

 

ABOUT THE RIDES:  

Feel free to crush some gravel and race your family & friends, or simply head out and tour the beautiful back roads of Geneva, Ohio at your own comfortable pace.PLEASE REMEMBER WHILE THIS IS A TIMED RIDE WITH PUBLISHED RESULTS, IT IS NOT A RACE.  
We wil identify the top three Male and Female riders in the 43 & 22.5 mile events. All rides will be mass start FONDO style.Riders can expect to encounter gravel, chip seal, dirt, mud and some paved surface 
(55% of the route are gravel roads).Gravel, cyclocross, mountain, single/fixed gear, fat tire and tandem bikes are welcome.  Road bikes will not be well suited for the routes.  E-Bikes are allowed.All routes will be marked prior to the rides, along with cue sheets & course maps available.  The official routes will be posted on Ride With GPS (www.ridewithgps.com) under the following titles:

Red Eagle Sprint Gravel Grinder 22.5 MILES
Red Eagle Gravel Family Ride 12.5 MILES
Registered riders will receive an email with the Ride With GPS files the week before the event.Please note course marshals will not be at every corner or intersection.The courses will not be closed to traffic and there will be no rolling escort vehicle.Bike helmets are required for all riders.Front and Rear lights are encouraged.Cycling rules of the road apply.  IE: stop at all stop signs and red lights, yield to cars, no more than two riders abreast and do not cross the yellow center line.Please do not litter.  Riders are responsible for the clean-up of all nutrition bars, gel wrappers and water bottles.  Please bring water for your ride.  There will be two water stops on the 43-mile route and one water stop on the 22.5 mile ride.A SAG vehicle will be on course to assist riders.

REGISTERED PARTICIPANTS WILL RECEIVE A RED EAGLE GRAVEL BEER GLASS IN WHICH YOU CAN ENJOY YOUR FAVORITE BEVERAGE AFTER THE RIDE.

 

After your ride is complete stick around for the ramped up post ride bash!  All riders will receive a free post ride drink (think BEER) and a bowl of chili all courtesy of The Red Eagle Distillery and the Black Door Tavern.  The Classic Rock Band, Robbing Mary, will entertain us under a large tent, food trucks will be on hand to dish up some of your favorite food and remember the free beer.

 

Remember to purchase your Red Eagle Gravel Grinder gear.  All gear will be delivered the day of the rides.

The REGG Kit is custom made by Giordana in Italy.  The kit is Race Cut.  Please make certain to view the sizing chart.  

It generally is wise to move up one size.  

 

No Refund Notice

The Red Eagle Gravel Grinder is fund raiser for the Steven G. Cancer Foundation.  

 

This event is rain or shine. If the event carries on as planned, the Red Eagle Gravel Grinder will not allow refunds under any circumstances. 

 

In the unlikely event that the Red Eagle Gravel Grinder must be canceled, we will refund your registration purchase, less credit card processing and BikeReg fees, or you will have the option to donate your registration to the Steven G Cancer Foundation. Cancellation of the event will be communicated to all participants as soon as possible and additional instructions will be given should the situation arise.
